About the camp
Aan de Ee is a small-scale camperplaats run by Andries and IJkie Wiegersma on their former dairy farm, 3 km from historic Dokkum in Friesland. After giving up dairy farming in 2019, they opened 12 hardstanding pitches in 2020, each with electricity and wifi and a wide view over the farmland and the Dokkumer Ee, a waterway on the Frisian Elfstedentocht route that is busy with pleasure boats in summer. A private jetty lets guests fish, swim or sunbathe, and a converted former dairy tank room now serves as a shared common room selling ice cream, eggs, jam, juices and homemade crafts. The sanitary building, built in 2021, has modern showers, toilets, a washing machine and dryer.
