About the camp

De Overtoom opened in October 2022 next to the family's cattle farm on Keizersdijk, just outside Rijssen. It offers 25 simple motorhome pitches with a shared sanitary building holding free showers, toilets, a washing machine and dryer, plus a drinking-water tap and dump points for chemical toilets and grey water. The setting is rural and green, bordering the Sallandse Heuvelrug and De Borkeld nature reserves, with plenty of walking and cycling routes from the gate and Rijssen's wooded surroundings close by. Payment is self-service, by QR code, card or cash in an envelope, and leashed dogs are welcome. It suits motorhome travellers who want a simple, unstaffed overnight stop close to nature rather than a full-service campsite.
