Erve Velpen is a small camperplaats (motorhome stopover) built on a former farmhouse dating to around 1865, set among woods and meadows near De Lutte in Twente. It suits people looking for peace and quiet, walking and cycling: the site lies directly on regional cycling and walking routes and is within about a kilometre of the 600-hectare Lutterzand nature reserve, where the Dinkel stream winds through sand drifts and heathland. There are 27 grass-paver pitches, 12 of which stay open and accessible year-round in any weather. Pitches are self-supporting: the base price is kept low, and campers pay separately for electricity and a coin-operated shower.
