About the camp
Run by owners Ruben and Ilze since October 2020, Camperplaats Hancate sits on a quiet B-road leading to the Velderberg nature area, right on the water among the woods and fields of the Overijssel countryside outside Hellendoorn. The 10 grass pitches have grass-tile hardstanding for a firm base even in wet weather, and stays are capped at 72 hours. There is no online reservation; visitors call or WhatsApp ahead, pay cash via an envelope system in an on-site information hut, and can come and go freely with no fixed arrival or departure times. The site markets itself as fully inclusive, with power, wifi, water, waste disposal and tourist tax all folded into one nightly price and no surprise costs.
