About the camp
Camperplaats IJlst is one of three municipal motorhome overnight stops run by the Súdwest-Fryslân municipality, sited at de Tsjalk next to the Fierljepschans (the local pole-vaulting arena) in IJlst. The pitch includes sanitary facilities and electricity for a maximum stay of three nights, with the harbourmaster visiting to collect payment in person; no online reservation is possible. Visitors who do not live in the municipality also owe a small per-person tourist tax, usually already folded into the advertised rate, while residents who declare so and children under four are exempt. It functions as a simple, unstaffed overnight stopover for motorhomes rather than a full-service campsite.
- directly next to the Fierljepschans, the arena for the Frisian sport of fierljeppen (canal pole-vaulting)
