About the camp
Family Kettler has set aside part of their private grounds in Slochteren as a small motorhome stopover since 2003, keeping things simple and affordable for fellow camper travellers who value a safe, well-lit place to park overnight. The site sits at the start of the Edsersweg/Duwolaan, in the green Duurswold countryside of Groningen province, 200 metres from the Baggerputten nature area and within reach of the Fraeylemaborg estate and 't Roegwold. There are no marked pitches and no fixed arrival or departure times: guests find a spot on arrival. There are also no toilets or showers, a deliberate choice to keep the spot small-scale and cheap. Guests can empty waste water tanks and chemical toilets on site, and pay cash via envelopes left in the information hut.
