About the camp
De Kroft lies in an open, tranquil landscape between the Zwanenwater, Kooijbos/De Boskerpolder and Nollenland nature reserves, roughly 2 km from the beach and the village of Callantsoog. Its name is West Frisian for a small meadow once used to be shelter animals needing extra care, such as a calving cow: the very field where guests now camp. Pitches are spaciously laid out, each with running water and 6-amp electricity. Alongside the camping pitches the site also rents apartments. Nearby attractions include the Zandpolder bird-watching wetlands, the old duck-decoy woodland of Het Kooijbos, and the dune-and-marsh landscape of Het Zwanenwater with its rare orchids, all reachable on foot or by bike.
