About the camp
Camping De Merel is a small, family-run campsite in Melderslo, part of the Horst aan de Maas municipality in Limburg. Standard pitches are priced for two people with a tent or caravan, car, electricity (up to 4 kWh/day), sanitary facilities and wifi included; tourist tax and an environmental levy are billed separately per person. SVR members get a discounted rate, and the camp encourages joining. A separate, cheaper 'Trekkers-plek' suits hikers and cyclists arriving without a car, with coffee or tea offered on arrival and weekend bread rolls to order. The camp gives 10% discounts in the shoulder weeks of April and October, and 12% off flexible month-long stays. Dogs are welcome for a small fee, though the owners keep numbers low, and children under three stay free.
