About the camp
Half-Hichtum sits on the grounds of the Bos family's former dairy farm, right on the Elfstedenroute and close to the historic centre of Bolsward. The setting is rural and animal-friendly: Frisian horses and a rabbit live on site, and guests bringing their own horse or pony can rent a separate stabling box. The campsite is deliberately kept small and quiet, with spacious pitches, a shared lounge with TV and free coffee, and play equipment for children (go-karts, trampoline, fishing nets, games). Cyclists find it a natural stop on the Elfstedenroute and other local routes. Party tents are not allowed, and the site is affiliated with the Stichting Vrije Recreatie (SVR).
