Camping Langs de Akker is a small trekker's campsite in a high-stem fruit orchard on the edge of the Bethunepolder, between Maarssen and Tienhoven. It welcomes cyclists, motorcyclists, small camper vans and cars with a roof tent, but is not suitable for caravans or motorhomes. The Maarsseveense Plassen recreation area is a 5-minute bike ride away.

About the camp
The campsite grew from demand by passing cyclists who kept asking to camp after a nearby trekker's site closed; the owners built a sanitary building with toilets, showers and a covered dish-washing area to host them. Pitches sit under a traditional high-stem orchard on soft peat ground, which (together with many trees and a weight-limited dam) makes the site unsuitable for caravans or motorhomes; it reserves space instead for cyclists, motorcyclists, small camper vans and cars with a roof tent. There are no powered pitches, but six 6-amp connections sit at the sanitary building, plus ordinary sockets under the shelter for charging phones and bike batteries. Nearby: cycling and walking routes, swimming, a historic fort, and restaurants in Maarssen.
