About the camp
De Hooiberg is a working cheese and dairy farm that lets a limited number of camping pitches, and the farm is the attraction rather than a backdrop for them. From the pitch you can watch the herd graze, and the milk from those cows becomes the farm's own organic Hooiberg cheese, sold in the cheerful farm shop below. Campers staying two nights or more are offered a free slice of it when they register and check out. The camp keeps itself deliberately quiet and grown-up: camping is for adults aged 18 and over only. Pitches come in two sizes, both with a standard 6 ampère hook-up and all the facilities priced in. Cycle and walking routes through forest, heath and open meadow start directly at the gate, and the camp also points mountain bikers at challenging routes nearby. Weekend markets in the pretty neighbouring villages and Bladel's supermarkets, shops and restaurants round out the surroundings.
