A car-free nature campsite at the foot of the Lemelerberg in Vechtdal Overijssel, with six grass kampeervelden of 100-140 m2, glamping tents and all-year natuurhuisjes. The grounds lie directly against the Lemelerberg Natura 2000 heath, and the camp has its own Boscafé, heated outdoor pool and shop. About the camp
Lemeler Esch is a natuurcamping built around one idea: Beleef wat de natuur kan doen. The terrain is fully car-free, so pitches are laid out as open grass fields with native flower mixes, fruit trees and deliberately empty spots between them; you walk straight from your pitch onto the heide, which turns purple in August and September. Six fields each have their own character, from the lively new Akker with its play space to the sheltered Bosplaats between tall trees and Heidezicht right on the heath edge. The camp is deliberately family-sized - the recreation team runs in the May and summer holidays and children play in the speelbos, the sand and water area, the heated pool and the covered natuurschuur. Dogs were not allowed in 2026; from 2027 one dog per pitch is trialled on Archemerheide.

The camp sits directly on the Lemelerberg, a unique Natura 2000 area of about 1,000 hectares of heath and forest, one step from the pitches. Ommen, a small town with shops and terraces on the Vecht, is nearby and has the closest station, with neighbourhood bus line 569 towards Lemelerveld stopping at the camp; Twente and Salland are a short ride further.
