De Meenthe is a small nature campsite in the woods at Noordwolde, in the Friese Wouden close to the Drenthe border. Four fields, one of them around a pond, hold 38 pitches for tents, caravans and campers, plus two furnished PODs for walkers and cyclists.

About the camp
De Meenthe occupies the site of Noordwolde's former natural swimming pool, and the old pond is still the heart of the grounds: one of the four small fields wraps around it, and the other three sit between the trees. It is a Nivon natuurkampeerterrein, the kind of volunteer-run nature campsite whose promise is quiet, space and the woods rather than facilities. Trekkers get a field of their own, and two fitted-out PODs (trekkershuts) named IJsvogel and Blauwe Reiger welcome walkers and cyclists who carry no tent. For wet weather there is 't Schoelplak, a covered shelter the camp built for the 2025 season. From the gates ride into Drents-Friese Wold national park, the Weerribben-Wieden and the Rottige Meenthe bogs, or put a canoe or whisper-boat on the river Linde.
