About the camp
De Schaapskooi is a small farm campsite where the owners keep things quiet and simple: a handful of pitches on the Regge, bordered by woods and pasture, with the villages of Hellendoorn and Den Ham close by and the Sallandse Heuvelrug national park right next door. Guests are encouraged to book ahead because there are few pitches. The working farm is part of the stay: sheep, goats, donkeys, chickens, ducks, geese and the farm dog. Facilities are modern and compact: toilet and washing block with hot showers, 10 amp electricity, free WiFi, and a communal room with a covered terrace called Het Proathuus. The area is made for slow days outdoors: walking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking and fishing, with heather fields, forest and wide views in one of Europe's largest continuous dry heath areas.
