Campsite
A family-run minicamping on Walcheren, 1.5 km from the centre of Middelburg, with 25 spacious pitches surfaced in fine gravel and grass. Every pitch has a 10 A electricity hookup and a water tap, and the camp itself is car-free. It is open all year, including the winter months.

About the camp
Jan and Mirjam, together with their six children, have run De Vlaschaard since May 2016. The site is laid out as three partly separated fields around the sanitary building, with a large children's play field in the middle that most pitches overlook, so parents can keep an eye on the kids from their own spot. The pitch surfaces are gravel over a grass base, which stays workable in wet weather; campers, caravans, awnings and tents all fit, and spike pegs are recommended for the gravel. The sanitary building was rebuilt and heated in 2023, with underfloor warming, showers that run without tokens or timers, and a separate accessible (MIVA) room. The emphasis is on children: skelters, a trampoline, table tennis, a football table, play gardens and an indoor play hall that is filled with hay bales in spring, plus a daily activity in summer, from pancake baking to a campfire or a visit from the fire brigade.
