About the camp
Camping De Witker lies in the valley of the Mosbeek beside the Springendal estate, one kilometre from the owner's farm and with no other buildings around - the lane to the camp ends at the camp. Henk and Betsie Weersink left the power out on purpose: for some a loss, for others a challenge. Those who take it up pitch with grazing roe deer in view, are woken by birdsong, and find evenings properly dark and properly quiet. Rechargeable devices can be charged at the farm and cool elements put in the owner's freezer. The facilities are basic and honest - a paid shower in the laundry hut, five water taps on the terrain, an outdoor shelter for washing up. Woodland, springs and small lakes, and the German border, are on the doorstep.
