A family-run camp farm (kampeerboerderij) at Zesgehuchten on the edge of Geldrop in North Brabant, built 35 years ago out of an old barn and run by the van Gastel family. It takes group stays — schools, clubs, family reunions, workshops — on a large field with its own hall, kitchen and eatery, and smaller parties on the adjoining Tipi-camping. Night tariffs are published only as a PDF price list.
About the camp
The name 't Uilenest ("the owl's nest") goes back to the owls that once nested in the old barn; the birds moved to the neighbouring shed and campers with luck still spot them. Fields and nature lie around the site, including the reserve De Gijzenrooise Zegge with walking routes marked from the gate and forest close by, so there is something for children and for those after quiet. A big play meadow and a play forest belong to the grounds, and the hall has a sound installation, a projector installed in 2025 and a wireless microphone set, while foosball and air hockey are free to use. The Tipi dorp is a small encampment of three tipis, a luxury living tent and four shepherd's wagons with beds for up to 28 people around a central fire pit you can cook on, with own tents or caravans allowed on the field. Meals come from 't Smulhuys, the eatery built next door, cooked fresh on reservation.
