Kampeerterrein De Bulte is a small, owner-run nature campsite near Zuidwolde in Drenthe, spread over grassy veldjes with fruit and nut trees. The nightly price is per person and all-inclusive of tourist tax, gas/electricity and the pitch; showers, washing-up water, e-bike charging and wifi are free. The site stays unlit after dark and the owners keep horses, goats, chickens and cats.

About the camp

The camp sits as an oasis of quiet in a landscape of meadow, arable fields, forest and the old tow-path canal, and you can start walking or cycling straight from the gate. It was a Natuurkampeerterrein for years and, though no longer listed in the Green Book, it keeps the same principles of quiet, space and respect for everything living. Pitches are generously sized and each has its own character: along the forest edge, on the round field, or facing the farmland or playground. Sanitary facilities and the owners' house lie centrally; a covered shelter (kapschuur) offers a kitchen spot, fridge, reading corner and games, and there is a washing machine for campers. In autumn you can pick apples, medlars and sweet chestnuts on site. A trekkersveld with pitches held back for cyclists and spontaneous visitors, a butterfly garden and the animals' meadow round it off.
