A 30-pitch certified nature campsite (natuurkampeerterrein) in the Achterhoek countryside near the Dutch-German border, run by the third generation of the same family. The terrain is aimed at nature and quiet: roomy grass pitches among mature trees and hedges, a separate tent field for hikers and cyclists, and deliberately few lights so the night stays dark.

About the camp
Nieuwe Buyl began when wartime evaders and hidden guests came back after 1945 with improvised tents under the trees, and the farm's guest rooms grew into a camping site; today Sam, Ina and Jolanda van Erkel run it. Thirty wide, green pitches alternate shade and sun, open or more sheltered, some close to the sanitary building, and guests choose their own spot from those free. Most have their own electricity and water tap. The owners are bird lovers: nest boxes and fruiting planting are everywhere, Ouessant sheep and curious chickens live on the site, and roe deer and bats appear at dusk. Sustainability is explicit: 48 solar panels light the whole terrain, waste is separated and pruned wood is dried for the rented wood stoves. Children of primary-school age find little here; the camp asks for respect, quiet and dark skies.

The site lies outside the hamlet of Sinderen in the Achterhoek, close to the German border, in a patchwork of hedgerows, small woods, meadow and arable land. A nature garden with a tea house and a coffee farm with a large playground are nearby; supermarket and bakery about 3 km away.
