About the camp

The club calls the ground "welig en intiem": rolling and intimate. It lies inside a large mixed forest that was planted shortly after the Flevopolder was drained in the 1960s, and the club writes that you camp on ruime en beschutte kampeerweitjes, spacious and sheltered camp meadows. The club's own page says the "new land" has surprisingly much to offer people who love nature: the Roggebotzand forest is now more than 60 years old and has a rich flora and fauna, insects and mushrooms included, and for the serious birdwatcher the Oostvaardersplassen are named a must. The nearby Wilhelminabos, planted in memory of people who died of cancer, is open to visit free of charge. Anyone who prefers culture can ride or drive to the old Zuiderzee towns Elburg, Kampen and Urk, or to former island Schokland, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a museum.
