Shambhala is a nature and wellness retreat centre in the Slovak Karst National Park, on a secluded plot near the village of Lúčka, with an indoor group lodge plus grounds for pitching tents.

About the camp

Shambhala combines nature tourism with spiritual relaxation in the Slovak Karst National Park. The ground floor has a large fireplace, kitchen and dining room; upstairs are 3 rooms with 2 bathrooms sleeping 10 to 12 people. Guests can also pitch tents on the large grounds for extra participants. The centre is hosted by Monika Kassayová, an experienced Tatra mountain-hut keeper. On offer: hiking, cycling, horseback trekking, exploring Krásnohorská Cave, rock and ice climbing, and workshops in yoga, chi-kung, tai chi, ayurveda and plein-air painting. Nearby sights include Krásna Hôrka castle, Betliar and the folk traditions of the Gemer region.
