Jurta pri Budulovských rybníkoch is a single traditional yurt run by the town of Moldava nad Bodvou at the Budulovské rybníky ponds, opened in June 2026 as an ecological, experience-based overnight stay with a wetland exhibition and archery on site. Visits and overnight stays are by advance phone reservation only.

About the camp

The yurt sits in a reclaimed wetland recreation area in the Budulov part of town, once an illegal dump and now three ponds with a fish farm and farm animals. Built without concrete foundations to protect the site's ecology, it draws on a local legend of Old Hungarian warriors who settled here after falling for water nymphs from the surrounding marshes. Alongside overnight stays, the grounds host a permanent exhibition on wetlands, sport archery and guided exhibition visits, and operate year-round. The project, funded by a EUR 57,000 Košice region 'Terra Incognita' grant and implemented by the town, went on to win the public vote for Terra Incognita's 'Experience of the Year 2026'.
