Palčovka is a family-run farmhouse and camping stop in Huty, right at the entrance to the Kvačianska dolina nature reserve in the Chočské vrchy foothills of northern Slovakia. Alongside four apartments and two mini-rooms, it offers three caravan/motorhome spaces plus a separate tent meadow with shared kitchen, showers and toilets.

About the camp

A more than 100-year-old farmhouse built by the current owner's great-grandfather, restored since 2008 and run today by Aleš and Miroslava Franek ('Ali a Miri'). It is the last house in Huty village before the Kvačianska dolina nature reserve, close to the Chočské vrchy and Roháče peaks. Besides four apartments, two mini-rooms and a mini-cottage by the pond, campers can pitch a tent on their own meadow or park a caravan or motorhome in one of three spaces, with a shared bathroom in the cellar or on the summer terrace. Two camper vans are also rented out in summer. Shared facilities include a cellar bar, a barn with a coffee machine and games, a fire pit, a trampoline, and loan of a grill, goulash cauldron and beach loungers. Sheep graze around the house.

The farmhouse sits at the far end of Huty village, the last house before the Kvačianska dolina nature reserve, with the Chočské vrchy and Západné Tatry mountains, several waterfalls and viewpoints, and village restaurants within a few kilometres. Thermal aquaparks, castles and the Demänovská Cave of Liberty are a 20-50 km drive away.
