About the camp

Run by 'Boerin Geeske' (farmer Geeske) on working farmland, this self-service campsite welcomes campers, caravans and tents to pick their own spot on arrival -- no booking required, and arrival/departure times are free. On weekday mornings the farm family invites campers for free coffee at 10:00. Swimming, fishing and boating water sit right at the campsite on the Tjeukemeer, with walking and cycling routes, beaches and villages nearby. The site is well suited to school and summer group camps, and its own day-recreation branch offers bookable farm-themed activities such as escape rooms, cow cuddling, Frisian games (fierljeppen, klompengolf) and a beer tasting.

On the Tjeukemeer lake in Friesland, near Delfstrahuizen and the twin village Echtenerbrug (supermarket, restaurants, snack bar), between Lemmer, Joure, Sneek and Heerenveen; about an hour's drive from Amsterdam, Utrecht, Groningen, Zwolle and Leeuwarden. Four beaches are nearby: Delfstrahuizen, Rohel, Oosterzee and Lemmer.
