About the camp
Camperplaats de Hoop is a small, unmanned motorhome stopover at Korenmolen De Hoop, a grain windmill dating to 1631 that was restored in 2011-2013 and is run entirely by volunteers, with all proceeds going toward its upkeep. It offers 24 numbered pitches with a 6-amp electricity hookup, a shower and toilet building (closed November-February), a water tap, chemical-toilet and greywater disposal, and wifi. There is no reservation system: a coded gate opens on arrival by phone, and guests register with a pre-printed envelope, dropping payment in a letterbox or paying a passing volunteer by debit card. The setting is a polder landscape near the sea, beach and dunes, popular for cycling and walking.
