About the camp
The camperplaatsen share P1, Loevestein's main car park with room for 230 cars, at the edge of the Munnikenland floodplain on the river Waal. From there it is roughly a ten-minute walk to the fortress, which today combines a Rijksmuseum history exhibition with a small bed & breakfast in the former officers' quarters. The surrounding nature reserve is grazed year-round by free-roaming Konik horses and Heck cattle, and the castle can also be reached by a pedestrian/cycle ferry from Woudrichem or a seasonal water taxi from Gorinchem. The site states the car park itself is free but does not publish a price, a capacity limit beyond the four spots, or a booking method for the camper pitches.
- Four camperplaatsen sit inside the castle's own P1 car park, about a 10-minute walk from the fortress entrance
