About the camp

Camping De Waterbuffelfarm is a working buffalo farm first and a campsite second: Richard, Carina, Sander and Ciska Zeestraten keep 95 water buffaloes for their meat, which visitors buy in the Landwinkel next to the field along with buffalo mozzarella and other regional products. The pitches are arranged in a carousel around the grazing, so there is a view of the animals from every spot, and the other farm animals (horses, donkeys, pigs, chickens and sheep) are part of it too. Guests rate it as quiet, tidy and friendly, with a new, modern sanitary building and free hot water. It is an adults-only camp (18+), affiliated with SVR. Dogs are welcome on a leash. The setting is the open peat meadow of the Kop van Overijssel, a short ride from Nationaal Park Weerribben-Wieden, with walking and cycling along the little border river De Linde into Friesland.
