About the camp

Esch Camping Kaampert is a minicamping run by owners Edwin and Jeanine on an eschgrond at Markelo, land where rye and oats were once grown and harvested. The site is deliberately quiet and uncrowded, with large, well-laid-out pitches rather than a packed field. Guest book entries return again and again to the same three things: the grass, the modern and exceptionally clean sanitary building, and the welcome from the owners. The camp also presents itself as an environmentally run site, with its own 'Groen kamperen' page and energy generated sustainably. Set up for multi-week stays, it suits campers who want a base for cycling and walking through Twente and who would rather have space and calm than animation.
