About the camp
Bonte Vlucht markets itself as an affordable, green camp in the centre of the Netherlands: waking up to birdsong and the smell of pine is how the site describes it. The camping fields are laid out as roomy pitches of up to 80 m², each with a 6 ampère (1320 W) connection, with sanitary buildings with toilets, showers and washbasins spread around the fields so facilities are always close. Campers who would rather not pitch can take one of the park's fully equipped rentals, from safari tents and chalets to apartments and Comfort holiday homes, which are bookable all year while the pitches run from 1 April to 30 September. The setting suits cycling and walking holidays on the Heuvelrug and day trips to Utrecht, Amersfoort and Wijk bij Duurstede.

Museums within 20 km include the cheese museum De Weistaar (5 km), Museum Dorestad in Wijk bij Duurstede (7 km), the Mondriaanhuis and the military aviation museum at Soesterberg (14 km), the Dom tower and railway museum in Utrecht (19 km) and the Dick Bruna house (20 km); DierenPark Amersfoort is 18 km away.
