About the camp

The cabin sits 6 metres up, built directly on the trunks of five beech trees rather than on stilts, with an 18 m² interior plus a 22 m² terrace and large vacuum-insulated windows framing the forest. Guests sleep in a bunked double bed (two below, two above). Off-grid basics include 12V lighting and device charging, a single gas burner, 20 litres of drinking water and a dry (sawdust) toilet; breakfast is hoisted up in a basket by rope. Board games and a ground-level fire pit are provided, and the surrounding beech-and-spruce forest is left unlogged. Booking is by email or SMS only, with payment due after the host confirms a date; there is no online reservation system.

The nearest restaurants, a natural sauna and a mineral spring are all within a few kilometres, with swimming areas, castles and protected nature reserves a 15-20 minute drive away.
